These are so unusual! Every-now-and-again I find an item that really is unusual, and I have to wonder exactly what is it for! It took me a while, but I realised these gorgeous little glasses are in fact Sake glasses. Each little glass (about the size of a large shot glass) comes with it's own glass saucer! So cute! There are three glasses in this set, each with matching saucers. The design is of a demekin (moor)-type fish, with gold detail. Unfortunately the gold has slightly rubbed off in places, but this really doesn't distract from the gorgeousness of these precious pieces of glass! |

First of all, I need to point out an unfortunate issue with this jar - as you will see from the larger image, the transfer of the last "e" in coffee is quite damaged. Looking closely at it, it seems to me to have been like this since production, as the transfer has actually "folded" back on itself - this is quite unlikely to have happened once the item was purchased, so this may have been a "seconds" piece.
Other than the problem with the "e" transfer, this lovely and stylised large jar is in perfect condition, and would love a new home! The problem with the "e" is very much reflected in the price as I just couldn't bare for this to be thrown in the bin!!! |

Gorgeous "Evesham" soup bowl by Alfred Meakin. The design is very stylised and bright, with a lovely floral pattern in various colours, including a super-vivid Coral, Plum, Caramel and Green! The bowl is in excellent condition, and is made from "Glo-White" pottery.

Simply a one off - amazing late 1950's, early 1960's stylised utensil hook plate, ready to screw to your retro kitchen wall! I am not entirely certain if it is made from Bakelite or not, but the weight and feel of the plastic are reminiscent of Bakelite.
So stylised to the era, the illustrations are of kitchen equipment and various foods such as cherries and tomatoes, in vivid colours of orange, green, red, blue and yellow.
Item is in amazing vintage condition, a few minor surface scuff marks, but nothing that detracts from the piece.

I'm so excited about this pottery set! A whole dinner set originally made by "Barker Bros ltd", part of the "Royal Tudor Ware" range, in the delightful and appropriately titled "Summertime" design! Made from very heavy Heat-proof Ironstone!
The gleaming white pottery really makes the bold and stylised green and yellow flower print stand out! All the pieces are in excellent condition - some crazing can be seen along with a tiny spot or two of print wear, but really nothing at all major or detracting.

I absolutely love J & G Meakin studio pottery, and being somewhat of a collector myself, it does stir something within me having to say 'Goodbye' to superfluous items from my collection - but I do hope they go to a good and deserving home! :)
