Looking closely at it, it seems to me to have been like this since production, as the transfer has actually "folded" back on itself - this is quite unlikely to have happened once the item was purchased, so this may have been a "seconds" piece. Other than the problem with the "e" transfer, this lovely and stylised large jar is in perfect condition, and would love a new home! The problem with the "e" is very much reflected in the price as I just couldn't bare for this to be thrown in the bin!!!
